Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yazdan Keivany is an esteemed Associate Professor in the Department of Natural Resources (Fisheries Division) at Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. He holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada, where he also completed his MSc. Dr. Keivany has made significant contributions to the fields of ichthyology and fisheries biology, focusing on the morphology, systematics, and taxonomy of freshwater and marine fishes, particularly in Iran. He has received numerous awards, including the IUT Prominent Researcher Award and various scholarships from the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Higher Education. Dr. Keivany is a founding member and former president of the Iranian Society of Ichthyology and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists. His dedication to teaching is evident through his instruction in a variety of subjects, such as general ichthyology, aquatic zoology, and evolutionary ecology.
